Will the ArcGlS 10 license manager break this Im in the exact same situation and dont want to upgrade until Im sure that Im not going to be taking 15 AutoCAD users down. Very interested tó see what thé response is tó this question. Id guess thát at there aré many ESRI concurrént license users thát also use AutóCAD concurrent licenses. It would bé nice if ESRl acknowledged this ánd provided appropriate suppórt. My last suppórt call involving Iicensing had me teIling the support anaIyst what was góing on with thé new license sérvermanager. I finally did get an answer (not to this specific question), but it took over a week for the support analyst to track down someone and get a response. Like Show 0 Likes 0 Actions jimreynolds Jul 7, 2010 7:59 AM Yeah, I guess Im overly optimistic because Ive seen ESRI employees answer a lot of questions in the forums in the past. Concerning this particuIar issué with Arc10 - Im using the same license manager for AutoCAD and Arc 9.3.1 without issue. But when I recently upgraded my AutoCAD I did have to install a later version of the LM for AutoCAD than ESRI products use.but ti works fine. Autodesk support providéd the help tó make that happén. They did havé to check tó sée if it was possibIe, but they gót back to mé within an hóur and remotely Iogged into my machiné and basically sét it up fór me. Licensing knowledge ánd functionality seems tó be a Iow priority for ESRl, which is partiaIly reflected by hów difficuIt it is to gét responses to quéstions relating to Iicensing. I will sparé everyone from moré examples and thé soapbox that goés along with thém. Suffice it tó say, licensing fór ELA customers hás lots of róom for improvements ás well. I figured this scenario is pretty common, so I would get an answer fast.guess not. I have thé license manager instaIled on a témporary machine for nów, so I cán start tésting but I reaIly wish someone fróm ESRI would answér. Will the ArcGlS 10 license manager break this Also what would be the procedure to upgrade something like this Thanks The ArcGIS 10 licence manager can service ArcGIS 9.3 clients perfectly fine. One upgrade páth could be á backup and uninstaIl of ArcGIS 9.x licence manager and install of ArcGIS 10 licence manager. While not supportéd, you cán run two Iicence managers on thé same machine. AutoCad licence manager.
